Two weekends ago, Music 4 Maryland camped out for the first time at Artscape in downtown Baltimore. Amid the heat, pounding music and aroma of funnel cakes, we were able to spread the word about our efforts in the state of Maryland and raise awareness and funds to keep our current projects going! This was the first time our new photo booth was set up and passersby were able to exchange a donation for a commemorative photo. We sold raffle tickets for a beautiful single-cut electric guitar that was generously donated by Paul Reed Smith Guitars, and debuted our popular Music 4 Maryland logo on a new t-shirt. Some highlights of the weekend included a few of our favorite local artists stopping by, a marching band featuring performers on stilts and getting to hear from teachers and students how our efforts were helping in the classroom. We will be featuring the photo booth in our tent once again and will also be collecting instrument donations to be refurbished and distributed to school programs that need them.
